A visual guide to the recurring gods we’ve seen so far (plus bonus Ananke styles through the ages). Click through for the full-size versions, which are a lot less fuzzy.

It’s not necessarily 100% accurate, mostly because of 2010s ‘Woden’ (and some assumptions I’ve made about the identities of the ‘20s Pantheon). But this is more me thinking out loud about the gods we’ve seen crop up in multiple Recurrences and looking for patterns.

A few observations that came to me as I put these together:
-Interesting that no god has shown up yet in all four time frames, though this could change with the 1923 Special.
-Lucifer, Inanna and Morrigan are the nearest to hitting a full bingo – I can’t figure out any connection between them, or anything that would make them especially important.
-Of the final four 1920s survivors, the three that have recurred in 2010s all had a close relationship with Ananke. Was this somehow carried over in the intervening century?
-It’d be interesting to see how designs evolve over time. Do adjacent reincarnations of a given god bear a closer resemblance to one another than if they’re multiple Recurrences apart?
-What does Blake’s appropriation of the ‘Woden’ identity mean for the way he chooses to present himself? He’s a student of these past recurrences – is he trying to imitate the previous incarnations?

I’ll update these once the 1923 Special is out, and we’ve got our next batch of reincarnations.
